Avowed, the next big release for Xbox Series X|S and PC will have a duration similar to The Outer Worlds. Obsidian Entertainment, the developers of the RPG, have stated that its size will be very similar to their previous work released in 2019, which could last around 20-25 hours.

Avowed Is Similar In Length to The Outer Worlds

Avowed will be released at the end of this year to offer a role-playing experience in the purest Obsidian Entertainment style. The Xbox Game Studios company continues to work on this release for Xbox Series X|S and PC, which promises to be a hit.

Following The Outer Worlds and Grounded, Obsidian is changing its setting to bring us back to the Pillars of Eternity universe with Avowed. What can we expect from this sword-and-sorcery RPG?

Avowed is the latest from the veteran studio expert in creating role-playing games, with titles such as Fallout: New Vegas (2010), South Park: The Stick of Truth (2014), and Pentiment (2022).

It will be a first-person RPG set in the magical world of Eora, from the Pillars of Eternity series, where you are an envoy tasked with investigating rumors about a mysterious spreading plague that threatens to destroy everything.

How Many Hours Will Avowed Last?

In statements to Game Informer, Carrie Patel, director of Avowed, indicated that the game will have a duration very similar to The Outer Worlds, the last major game from the developer that gained fame with Fallout: New Vegas.

“The best comparison for Avowed in terms of scope is The Outer Worlds.” How many hours would that be? Considering the data from How Long to Beat, the main story of The Outer Worlds can be completed in about 13 hours.

However, the game offers much more content. If you go for the side quests, you can complete the game in 26 hours, and if you want to achieve 100%, the duration approaches 40 hours, depending on your play style, of course.

“Players can expect a more or less similar experience, like The Outer Worlds, depending on the difficulty level they play and how thoroughly they explore and invest in the content, rather than sticking to the main storyline,” she noted.

However, the game will be highly replayable, something Carrie Patel herself assured us when we talked to her in Los Angeles. The decisions players make will be crucial and will establish many different paths to follow. We still don’t know exactly when the game will be released.

According to a leak, Avowed is expected to arrive next November, but we’ll have to wait to find out when we can see it on Xbox Series X|S and PC, also on Game Pass.
